Route
We start in Dent and take this quiet route to ascend Whernside, away from the masses on the more popular but less interesting route from Ribblehead.
Once on the summit of the highest peak in Yorkshire, we walk the length of its summit ridge taking in the vast views in all directions, where we can see Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough and the distances involved in the Three Peaks route. We then follow an ancient route back to Dentdale via Great Wold to our starting point.
