This is an exploration of the southern edges of Kinder Scout from the Vale of Edale. We ascend to the plateau by one of the lesser frequented routes and take in some of the most striking and unusual rock formations, before descending by an ancient packhorse route. If the group is feeling strong and the weather kind, we will also have an opportunity to explore the plateau and possibly visit Kinder Low or Kinder Downfall.

Route
We start in Edale and follow Grinds Brook up onto the Kinder Plateau. This is a scenic route that is usually quiet but as it steepens towards the top youll be glad when we reach the plateau and a chance to get your breath back. We now follow the edge of the plateau to Crowden Tower and then on to the curious collection of rocks called the Wool Packs. After some fun exploration we continue on to Pym Chair and Edale Cross. WE now meet the Pennine Way for a short section as we descend Jacobs Ladder. From here its an easy stroll back to Edale.
